2014 Yngling Youth Cruise

Yngling Youth Cruise is on again - Sign up now and get involved! 

Are you aged 23 or under, or at secondary school and interested in exploring Sydney Harbour and Pittwater on an Yngling with your friends?

Come and join the 2014 Yngling Youth Cruise! Our plans this year include:

Day 1: Exploring the harbour west of the bridge and over night at Cockatoo Island

Day 2: Seamanship and short racing to Castle Rock, Middle Harbour then over night at Balmoral Sailing Club

Day 3: Sail from Sydney Harbour to Pittwater (weather permitting), overnight at The Basin

Day 4: Explore Pittwater, finish up at RPAYC at the end of the day

The cruise will focus on seamanship, boat handling, casual racing while having fun exploring.  We will be taking a fleet of Ynglings around Sydney Harbour then up to Pittwater, escorted by a mother ship. 

The Youth Cruise is for secondary school students and youth sailors up to the age of 23. Sailors are also invited (at no extra cost) to participate in the Yngling Youth Gold Cup held in conjunction with the Yngling National Championships from 27-29 December at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.

The cost of $500 per sailor covers 4 days sailing, 3 nights accommodation, all meals and running support vessels, entry to the Yngling National Championships and membership of the Australian International Yngling Association.

We would also like to hear from parents that may like to get involved.  If you are able to volunteer your time to help with the Yngling Youth Cruise please get in touch. We need people to help purchase supplies, drive RIBs and assist with sailing activities.
